TikTok is optimized for devices with foldable screens and bigger screens.

The well-known social media app TikTok, which features videos, recently underwent an update that makes it more functional on larger screens and foldable gadgets. The app has been updated to include a clearer video feed, streamlined navigation bars at the top and bottom of the screen for easier use, and support for both landscape and portrait mode.

Described TikTok's changes as follows:

Crystal-clear video feed: Take advantage of a more polished video feed that presents content with greater clarity.

streamlined bars for navigation: With stylish navigation bars at the top and bottom of the screen, you can easily navigate TikTok and access your favorite tabs and features.

Support for both landscape and portrait orientation: TikTok is now compatible with both landscape and portrait orientations, regardless of how you hold your device.

The company stated that although this is a great beginning, it looks forward to more experimentation. It stated that it would like to examine Topic Feeds, which allow you to browse videos by category.

Google has been enhancing its developer tools to better support this form factor ever since companies like Samsung started releasing foldable phones. This has allowed companies like TikTok to release updates like these to their apps.

Fortunately for TikTok, foldable devices are still relatively new and expensive. However, in the future, people will likely be able to purchase them, so apps will need to be prepared.

Although TikTok did not disclose a release schedule for this update, sentences such as "People can now watch..." in the announcement imply that it should be available to everyone soon; that being said, users of tablets and foldable devices will likely be the only ones who find it interesting.

Previously, TikTok allowed users to access the website through a desktop browser, but this was a far less user-friendly experience than on mobile devices, which is how it was intended to be used. Whether or not users like this update for tablets and foldable devices is something they will have to determine for themselves.
